Becoming the kind of person who CAN succeed involves developing your sales skills, your business savvy and your confidence


If you think it's just a mindset thing, you're wrong.


Of course, I believe that having a happy, confident mindset is essential to anyone trying to sell anything (which, if you own a business, you always are)-- but it's one thing for me to tell you you need it and quite another to show you exactly how to get it


So many so-called personal development experts will be content to just tell you to visualize what you want and think positively… which for most people just doesn't cut it. 


That's why working with a strategist-- not just a therapist or a life coach-- is so powerful. 


You need to know how to build a strong mind, but you ALSO need to know the practical strategies it takes to build a successful business. 


Lucky for you, I've done all the obsessing about that FOR you.


The usual "believe and you shall achieve" stuff wasn't going to be enough-- I wanted a PLAN.

So many freelancers scramble every day against throngs of lookalike competitors on sites like Elance, Fiverr and Upwork. It's like playing the lottery, and it's not the best way to grow your business. 


The fact is, people buy from people they know, like and trust-- so it's YOUR job to get to know as many of your ideal clients as you can and get to them before they're ever looking at your competitors. 


That's the secret-- it's all about building relationships. 


And it's NOT about having the right connections right now. You don't have to know a single person right now for this to work for you.

My point is, if you’re not yet enjoying the success you want in your business, it’s probably because you haven’t yet mastered the art of influence.


And you might be thinking, “Can’t I just hire someone to handle my marketing and sales?”


To which I would respond, “Well, sure you could… but is that person going to also be your personal spokesperson in every meeting, interview or social situation? Because those matter just as much…”


Your ability to influence others could quite possibly be your most valuable skill in business (and maybe in life, too!)


Listen closely-- everything you do to get better at selling will have a ripple effect and a positive influence in every area of your life. 


If you invest in no other area of your education, invest in increasing your personal power for influence.

I don’t have anything against people having jobs if that’s really what they want. 


If you want to work for someone else, then by all means, work for someone else! 


But if being a successful business owner is really your dream, don’t you dare let your fear stop you. 


You can tell your fear to shut up. 


You can learn the stuff you don’t know. 


If you’re not organized or confident or focused now, you can learn how to be that way. 


Now listen up, because this is important: 


People aren’t born brave. They’re not born disciplined. They’re not born with extraordinary business savvy. 


If you want success enough, you become the kind of person who can succeed. 


That option is always available to you. 


So if you want a job, get a job. 


But if you don’t… what else can you do?


Option #2: You can join the masses scrambling to get freelance work on the various online hiring platforms.

It’s not a bad place to start.


After all, there are people there who want what you have to offer. 


But you have to know you’ll be competing against hundreds (if not thousands) of people from all over the world who can probably do comparable work for less money. 


And, if a full-time, self-sustaining, SERIOUS income is really what you want, taking odd freelance jobs (unless you have a super-valuable, super-niche-y skill) is probably not going to get you there.


You're going to need to think EVEN BIGGER.


The money is in the relationships, which is why the best investment you can make in your business is going to be to learn where to find people to get to know, what to say to them and how to position yourself as the obvious choice in your industry.
